The next morning

When I stepped out of the bathroom into Kaylin’s bedroom what I saw took everything in me to contain my laughter. Standing in the middle of the room, dressed in denim overalls and straw hats was Kaylin and my baby looking like they were ready to go plant some crops.

“Where are y’all going, looking like that?” I giggled, making my way further into the room.

I sat on the edge of the bed and began to moisturize my body with some coconut shea butter lotion.

“Get dressed and come find out,” Kaylin said and pointed behind me.

That’s when I noticed he had gotten me the same matching outfit.

“Kaylin, what are you up to?” I was curious.

“Mom, Mr. Kaylin said he has a big surprise for me and I want to see. So can you please hurry?” CJ whined, jumping up and down.

“Okay. Okay. Calm down. Give me ten minutes, and I’ll meet y’all downstairs.” I shook my head as I stood from the bed and began to get dressed.

Dropping my towel to the floor, I slipped on my bra and panties. Walking over to the dresser, I pulled out a simple white tee before stepping into my overalls, snapping them in place. They fit a little baggy, but I must admit they were cute. After lacing up my boots, I made my way downstairs to the back of the house, where Kaylin and CJ, who were standing near the door that led to the backyard. When he opened the door, my eyes widened at the sight before me. His whole damn backyard was set up into a petting zoo. He had cows, rabbits, and a few goats around that was being tended by the animal attendants that I just noticed was there. Even a few haystacks were strewn about the yard giving it a petting Zoo feel. On the side by the pool was a cotton candy machine and a hotdog stand. I was impressed and feeling a little emotional.

“Kaylin, what is all this?” I probed over CJ's loud excited screams.

“I figured since Cool J couldn’t wait until the weekend to go to the Zoo. I bought the Zoo to him.” He smiled, waving his hand around the beautifully decorated backyard.

“Wow,” was all I could get out as I looked around in total amazement.

I didn’t even know I was crying until Kaylin wiped my eyes before softly kissing my lips. My head fell into his chest as more tears slipped from my eyes. I couldn’t believe he did all this for my son. It made my heart feel full. Christian have never cared to do anything like this for our son. He barely spent time with him.

“Why are you crying, baby girl?” His eyebrows knitted as he gripped ahold of my chin, lifting my head.

“You didn’t have to do this, Kay.”

“I know, but I did. Now come on and let’s have some fun before these animals start shitting on my grass,” he chuckled.

Kaylin grabbed my hand as CJ held the other, and he led us into the backyard.
